I was recently in a local charity fashion show supporting GirlPwr, which empowers young women. After the show was over, I had several adult women come up to me and say they wished their bodies looked like mine.
What stuck with me in this moment is the constant struggle we all face in learning to love the physical house of our souls and how little we give credit to the ability our bodies have to move, shift, flow, change and become beautiful.
It wasn't always the case that I loved my body. It didn't start with working out or moving my body, although I did those things for many years without the result I wanted. It wasn't until I realized my relationship to self was very toxic and negative. When I started to learn how to take care of myself & my body and moved in a way that supported me, that's when my body started to change. My body was changing because I was working with it, instead of against it with negative self talk.
If you aren't in love with your body, the place you house your soul, it's time to look at this beautiful gift in a more supportive way! Find a relationship to self so your physical body is a reflection to how you feel about yourself. How do you be in your physical body 100% of the time and feel good about who you are. Sure there will always to flaws and things you may want to change, but when you love your body, your body will respond positively.
If you are obsessed with calorie counting and self sabbotage with beating yourself up from the number on the scale, it's time to STOP! Shift your thinking, take a different approach and come into a new relationship with your body!
As always I’m here to inspire you live an authentic life of health, happiness and abundance. See you next week on LizTV!
