I’ve recently been traveling quit a bit, some for pleasure and some for work. And in a lot of that travel it has lead me to the ocean! I’m here at Hilton Head, which is an incredible ocean experience. if you’ve never been here, put it on your list!
The ocean is one of my favorite places to meditate, to think, to write and to really tap into my psyche. So yesterday I took a beautiful run on the beach. One of the things I do when I workout, is to create a theme word for that workout to give me something I can focus my attention on when it gets challenge or I want to stop. I try to come up with that intentional word before I start, but yesterday I didn’t tap into my word until I was half way through. And that word was JOY!
What an incredible feeling it is to experience JOY! And that leads me to today’s take away. Do you experience JOY on a daily basis? I find in my coaching practice this to be one of the most important & simplest gifts you can give yourself each day. So this week, I want you to set yourself up for having more JOY every single day. This could look like taking a walk on the beach, or sitting in your favorite chair reading. It could be connecting with an old friend or simply taking a nap. Maybe it’s eating a piece of chocolate or making yourself a home made meal.
The thing is JOY is one of the best places to go to have your life align in a beautiful way. It’s simple, it’s easy, it’s doesn't have to cost you anything. So please add JOY into your daily life. Not as your to do list, but as something you look forward to. A gift you give yourself every day. An intentional moment in your day.
This may sound too ridiculous for you, but I’m telling you life without JOY is pretty miserable. And there are way too many of us (me included) that are so fast paced in our lives and we forget what life is all about.
Bring JOY into it.
